Fairwell 2005

Well the end of the year is nigh, we are still trying to work out what we will do tonight. Maybe head down to the river and one of the many celebration activities or enjoy the light show from the height & comfort of our apartment. I think comfort will win this year, its damn humid now the winds gone and the storm clouds are slowly rolling in.

Boxing Day, Well Unboxing Day for us!

We spend the day finishing off the unpacking and cleaning, oh what fun! The apartment is looking more like a home then a disaster zone. Jason could no longer avoid the cleaning and unpacking of the kitchen stuff! Only a few things were broken in the move, two glasses, both office chairs and Marika’s computer. The computer is working again with the help of a new video card, however it’s still limping and Jason is stumped as to why! Maybe it’s just old in IT years.

Merry Christmas

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

Today we had a lovely turkey lunch. We had planned on heading down to Orchard Rd for the afternoon celebration, however our weighted down bellies wouldn’t let us move out of the air-conditioned comfort of the apartment.

The Move

We moved out of the serviced apartment today, it’s such a nice feeling to be moving into your own space. Still lots of cleaning and unpacking to do. We set up the Christmas tree today and checked that our internet access, cable TV is working. The phone should be alive next week, our phone is through the cable internet connect. We’ll have to get a phone card for cheaper international calls.

Our Singapore Home

We took possession of our new rented apartment this morning, and our furniture etc from Australia was delivered after lunch. Jason spent the day pottering around unpacking boxes trying to find hiding places for everything making sure to avoid boxes that appeared to have kitchen stuff in it!

Tuesday 6 December 2005

We’ve been here one & half weeks, Marika is working and Jason’s walking. Marika life is pretty normal with work, junior is developing well. Jason is walking and walking and walking all over trying to find a nice area to live in. We have narrowed it down to a few areas near the Shopping district (Orchard Rd) and the CBD, and close to the MRT (Trains) stations.

Singapore Bound

Today we jetted our way to Singapore. Arriving at 10 o’clock at night to a barmy 32C, welcome to Singapura weather lah (We’re already learning Singlish). By 10:30 we were off the plane, had collected our bags, through customs and were standing in our hotel's lobby, Quick! Our one bedroom serviced apartment is rather small, just as well the cat didn't come, there’s not enough room to swing her. Hopefully we can find our own apartment soon, with enough room for visitors.

Saying Goodbye to Binski & Babies

The past 9 days has seen us saying good bye to all Binski's Babies, Runty went first on Friday, then Gingie la Salsa on Saturday, Tiger on Sunday. Piblet was hiding on Saturday when he was due to be picked up, he came home later that day, then on Monday he disappeared without a trace, we hope he ended up in a good home. To round out a sad week of good bye’s today we had to say good bye to Binski as she joined her new family. We were going to take her with us to Singapore but we thought the outdoor cat in her wouldn’t like the constant indoors of Singapore apartment living. We hope that Binski & her babies enjoy their new homes & families.
